Yet another video, but I’m sure you don’t mind. You already read too much as it is, what with the schoolbooks and the stop signs and all. YouTube clips have currency and style and thought, and all I offer are words.
So someone with a point of view (wow) and design skills (woah) and elegance (and not 60-year-old-Austrian-woman elegance, gasp) directed a film that isn’t dealing in Uplift or sopping with sympathy, but is actually the expression of their particular talents and experiences! And it may even contain scenes that recall the mechanics of human sexuality! I assure you that this — will — not — happen — again in 2009.
Note: This is almost exactly how I sold Tetro to my friends and I ended up with a dozen eggs on my face and was beaten with socks, so if this also ends up a farce (a possibility) then I’ll just stop watching movie trailers.

If I am commenting anyways I may as well put some input. Remember there are 10 best picture noms this year so who knows what is going to go down in terms of nominations though at this point I’d be shocked if Precious isn’t a front runner. It has cleaned up at some pretty powerful festivals.
Not to mention that this year has had some great films that won’t be contenders in Moon, (500) Days of Summer and Sita Sings the Blues. Now that I think about it Sita could be a good film for a friday night. It’s the work of a single person which makes it interesting already, it is great on its own right and has a debacle of a backstory. Also it is a musical set in ancient India yet set to 1920’s Jazz. One of my favourites of the year, and it is free for downloading so if you want it go snag it off the net if I have intrigued you.
